Thrown to the Wind
Beijing-based artist Wang Zhiyuan piece entitled Thrown to the Wind ascends 36 feet into the air. Zhiyuan’s tornado of plastic waste is a reminder of the trash that overwhelms his hometown and it’s surrounding environment. It pretty much speaks to anyone - the reality is that we are all living with it the effects of non-dispoable waste.
Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Seriously though. I really don’t have time for being this sick. Already missed 5 days of work ;_; Guess this teaches me not to take my health for granted…sighhhhh.
My desi father's way to deal with a bad day
Me: Sometimes it’s like every single person around you is just out to ruin your whole day, right?
Dad: I cannot find my socks. Where are?
Me: “Where are they.”
Dad: Yes, where are they?
Me: You’re not listening. I said something.
Dad: Well, my method is simple. Alhumdulillah. When everyone is acting foolish and annoying me, I just think to myself, “You all are going to die some day. All of you. Everybody. Good.”
Me: …
Dad: It gives me peace to know they and their stupidity is not immortal, you see. I am a rational person.
lol this reminds me of a Japanese proverb: 馬鹿は死ななきゃなおらない。 Baka wa shinanakya naoranai, which is something like, “An idiot cannot be cured of his stupidity until (or unless) he dies.” haha.

I can still smell the fresh pine and fir of those snowy winter breaks in Lake Tahoe as a kid. I was so fortunate to experience that: walking out, alone, onto the sparkling, unbroken snow and just sitting, listening, breathing the cold air. There is a special kind of quiet in the mountains when the snow falls and the wind makes its way through the trees. Pure magic.
